Alright we are fresh off the #Grammy train and a new dawn is upon us so ughhh….I don’t know about you but all of the black community that I know CANNOT wait to go see “Black Panther” opening night on February 16th! History is being made with this movie. Not only is this the 1st SOLO black superhero movie in Marvel Comic cinematic history (&the world…), there is a FIRE soundtrack produced by Kendrick Lamar coming our way February 9th. I may not have heard the soundtrack yet, but please believe if you’ve heard of Kendrick Lamar then you too know he’s not coming whack with this, I’m not having it. The first single off of the #blackpanther soundtrack playing on your radio stations now is “All of the Stars” featuring the humble “weekend” lover SZA. It has that real intro type vibe to it, like something big is coming. I love it. Directed by Ryan Coogler, this all black cast includes some major players such as Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker, and Andy Serkis.
We are in for a treat my people! Now that we are clear of the historic events taking place we need to be READY so we won’t have to get ready. How do we get ready, you ask? WE GET DRESSED!!!!!!! We need to PULL ALL THE WAY UP AND COME ALL THE WAY THROUGH WHEN WE HIT THESE THEATERS!
We are dead in the middle of winter so I want to see ICE and FURs and let us NOT forget our black! See our culture was born with a style and a swagger unmatched with any other just as this movie and soundtrack shall be. So we have to REPRESENT that way every single Black Panther #hashtag on the Gram (Instagram) opening weekend will be full of life, culture and US enjoying our blackness.
